NEWS
In a surprisingly high-scoring affair, the visiting New York Jets couldn’t slow down the Chicago Bears in a 38-34 loss.
Both of these teams are much better known for stingy, opportunistic defense than explosive offenses, and the cold, snowy weather would seem to only emphasize that.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez didn’t seem to have too much trouble with his sore shoulder, throwing for 269 yards and a touchdown. He also threw an interception.
Running backs LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene combined for 98 yards rushing and two touchdowns on just 25 carries. ( Read More…)

New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez is dealing with a sore throwing shoulder but plans to play through it.
Sanchez responded to a lot of criticism the past two weeks by helping his team to a win over Pittsburgh.
He did undergo an MRI, but head coach Rex Ryan stated that it was a precautionary measure only.
He is expected to start this week in Chicago, which just got done knocking Brett Favre out Monday night. ( Read More…)

The New York Jets picked up a critical win with a surprising, 22-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Jets got a big game out of their special teams and defense to snap a two-game losing streak.
Kick returner Brad Smith opened up the game by returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown.
Jason Taylor later stopped Mewelde Moore in the end zone for a safety, two points that proved critical in the end. ( Read More…)

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said he will stick with Mark Sanchez as his starting quarterback.
Sanchez has had a rocky second season in the NFL, one with more than its share of highs and lows.
Lately, it’s been a struggle for Sanchez and the Jets, who can’t seem to move the ball at all.
While Ryan admits that Sanchez has to play better, he also knows that it’s not just the fault of his quarterback. ( Read More…)

The New York Jets could not rebound from last week’s defeat in a 10-6 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
After such an embarassing loss to the New England Patriots, head coach Rex Ryan vowed his team would bounce back.
Instead, the Jets turned in another absymal offensive effort, managing just two field goals against a mediocre defense.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for 216 yards and an interception, and the running game never got off the ground. ( Read More…)

The New York Jets turned their showdown with the New England Patriots into an embarassing 45-3 loss.
New York’s highly touted defense had no answers, surrendering 326 yards and four touchdowns to Tom Brady.
The Jets couldn’t get anything going offensively, and head coach Rex Ryan was totally embarassed by the effort.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez, forced to throw the ball because they were playing from behind, tossed three interceptions. ( Read More…)

New York Jets safety Jim Leonhard is out for the season after fracturing his tibia in a freak collision during Friday’s practice.
Head coach Rex Ryan said it was terrible news and that the loss was a huge blow to his defense.
Ryan considers the safety to be the quarterback of the defense and knows he won’t be easy to replace.
Some players that were there when the injury occurred were very disturbed and had to turn away. ( Read More…)

The New York Jets overcame a slow to start to gradually pull away from the Cincinnati Bengals, 26-10.
New York trailed 7-3 at halftime but wasted little time in taking control of the game in the third quarter.
The versatile Brad Smith scored on a 53-yard touchdown run less than a minute into the second half, and the Jets cruised from there.
Darrelle Revis apparently took Terrell Owens comments to heart, holding him to just three catches and 17 yards. ( Read More…)
