Jets can’t get past Steelers, 24-19

The New York Jets fell behind big in the first half and then couldn’t dig out of the hole in a 24-19 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Jets fell behind 24-0 in the first half before managing to put three points on the board just before halftime.

Their defense was getting run over top of by Rashard Mendenhall and their offense could not get into a rhythm.

The second half was a different story, as the Jets regrouped at halftime and grabbed momentum of the game. ( Read More…)

Jets stun Patriots, 28-21

The New York Jets continued their incredible road playoff play over the past two years in a 28-21 upset over the New England Patriots.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez played his best playoff game to date, tossing three touchdown passes to lead the Jets to the improbable victory.

New York’s defense caused quarterback Tom Brady to throw his first interception since back when the Patriots played Baltimore early in the season.

It was clear that their schemes had Brady flustered and confused, and he seemed more concerned about the pass rush than finding open receivers. ( Read More…)

Jets rally past Colts, 17-16

The New York Jets kept rallying back and eventually earned a 17-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

It was a special win for head coach Rex Ryan because he has had so much trouble beating Peyton Manning throughout his coaching career.

Running back LaDainian Tomlinson came back to life, rushing 16 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

The Jets used a big kickoff return from Brad Smith in the final minute to set up the game-winning field goal from Nick Folk. ( Read More…)

Jets smash Bills, 38-7

The New York Jets bounced back from last week’s loss in a big way, smashing the rival Buffalo Bills, 38-7.

Veteran backup quarterback Mark Brunell got the start and saw significant action in place of Mark Sanchez.

Brunell actually played really well, throwing for over 100 yards and two touchdowns in three quarters of work. ( Read More…)
