The New York Jets do not plan on losing linebacker David Harris to free agency and will place the franchise tag on him.
Harris was voted the Jets MVP this season by his teammates after recording 99 tackles and three sacks.
In his fourth season, Harris has established himself as the leader of the defense despite the presence of fellow linebacker Bart Scott.
The Jets have made it know that signing Harris is a priority, and they hope to use the franchise tag to work out a long-term deal. ( Read More…)

New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson plans on returning to the team for the 2011 season.
Tomlinson said he is still heartbroken over his team’s loss in the AFC championship game but is not thinking about retirement.
He said that he knew how badly his family and the fans wanted a Super Bowl to come true, and that it was his dream.
He stated the obvious, saying that the way the Jets started the game ultimately cost them an AFC championship. ( Read More…)

New York Jets starting quarterback Mark Sanchez will not have to undergo surgery on his injured shoulder.
Sanchez underwent an MRI after the AFC championship game to determine if surgery would be necessary.
His throwing shoulder bothered him for much of the season, and there was some concern about his availability in the playoffs.
The quarterback was thrilled with the news after spending much of last offseason rehabbing a knee injury. ( Read More…)

New York Jets strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi has decided to resign from his position.
Alosi made big news during the season when he intentionally tripped in opposing player along the sideline.
He, as well as several other Jets personnel, lined up close together along the sideline to form a wall.
The incident resulted in a suspension, embarassment for the organizaiton and a $100K fine by the NFL. ( Read More…)
