Jets in spotlight in 2010
By Bud L. Ellis
After coming within one win of reaching the Super Bowl last season, the New York Jets will be squarely in the spotlight in 2010.
The National Football League has released game times and dates for the 2010 schedule. The Jets are one of the teams people will be watching closely in the upcoming season, and there will be plenty of opportunities for the Jets to play in prime time.
The season begins with a Monday Night Football matchup against Baltimore on Sept. 13 at home. Following a big home showdown with AFC East rival New England in week 2, the Jets travel to Miami for a Sunday Night Football showdown on Sept. 26. A trip to Buffalo is next, followed by a Monday Night Football matchup against the NFC runner-up Minnesota Vikings at home.
Week 6 finds the Jets at Denver, followed by the bye week on Oct. 24. The second part of the schedule begins with a home game against Green Bay, followed by road contests at Detroit and at Cleveland. Two consecutive home games follow, against Houston and Cincinnati (the Bengals’ game a Thanksgiving Night contest).
The Jets then travel to New England Dec. 6 for a Monday Night Football showdown. A home game against Miami, two road games at Pittsburgh and at Chicago, and a home contest with Buffalo conclude the regular-season slate.
